The battle ended, and Drake became a true Dragon Guardian. Elder Dragon awarded him the Dragon Heart Medal—the dragon race's highest honor. Though Ember had consumed much power, it slowly recovered. Drake stood before the Dragon Sanctuary and solemnly swore: "I will guard the dragon race with my life and protect the peace of this land." All dragons cheered for him. A new legend had begun.
