The Keeper appeared again, warning Alex: "You cannot stay here forever. The balance between worlds is breaking. If this continues, both worlds will collapse." Alex had to choose: return to his ordinary world, or find a way for both worlds to coexist. Other Alex said, "Maybe... we can find a third path."
Alex and Other Alex explored the time fissure together, seeking a solution. Inside, they saw fragments of countless parallel worlds—each one a result of different choices Alex had made. In some worlds Alex became a musician, in others a scientist, in still others, nothing at all. The Keeper said, "These are all possible versions of you."
